How To Survive A Zombie Apocalypse Using Gadgets And Tools

The Things You Need In A Zombie Wasteland

“It started with an itch… then a high fever, followed by thirst and sudden blindness. The subject turn pale with stomach cramps and nausea, it seems the thirst is so overpowering that it turn to hunger. We gave the subject some food and water to drink, but it seems he consumes it all and he wants MORE!” How can he eat so fast? Maybe that damn virus targets the digestive system… and turns it into a grinding machine.
The subject will be brain-dead in 2 hours, then the rage will take over - after that, he will rise again and that Thing will keep on moving, looking, waiting for something to devour.” - 70 days after the plague.

-      An excerpt from Dr. Marcus Gray; military doctor assigned under a marine bunker and one of the few remaining survivors in a world swept by the undead.

Most of us are fascinated by the zombie phenomenon; it’s both scary and closer to reality than any other monster creature we see on television and movie theaters. Unlike other monsters we knew that attack individual victims, the zombies attack the whole human race. They are toxic and carry a lethal bite that can turn normal folks into mindless hordes. Also, they are always hungry and I mean unstoppable hunger. One of the most significant characteristics of a zombie is that they keep on moving (walking), and they will not stop until they are forced to stop. You can only stop a zombie and not kill it, because it’s already dead. By putting a bullet on its temple or cut the head entirely – you can bring it down permanently.

So, why is a zombie apocalypse closer to reality than a vampire or werewolf outbreak? It is simple; as a matter of fact… the biological agent that can be responsible for the contagion might already be in bio-labs that specialize in germ-warfare. Any freak accident on that lab can release this agent on the air and from there the plague spreads to towns, cities, countries and maybe even continents. The number of people inflicted with this virus can reach critical-mass in a short span of time. Societies will be in ruins, governments will be powerless, anarchy can be prevalent in every nation and people will always be fighting for their lives.

Here are some possible gadgets, tools, vehicles and weapons that can help you survive the zombie wasteland:

1    The Ever Reliable Crowbar – a multi-purpose tool that can be used in creating fortifications as well as for hitting zombies. It is also hard and has a sharp edge, which you can use to pierce the head of a zombie.

2     Disaster Kit Holder – it can be a bag or anything that can store water, food, medication, clothing, sanitation and first aid supplies.

3    Compass – It might be old school but in a zombie wasteland, GPS and hi-tech communication tools might no longer be possible. A common compass can bring you to your destination.

4    Two-Way Radio – When the internet and cellular phones are no longer available, the only option you can use is a two-way radio that can both receive and transmit messages in a limited radius.

5    Machete – it is light and the most ideal cutting tool you can bring along with you. You can swing it easily and can be used to decapitate zombies in any given situation.

Guns, Guns, Guns – it is the ultimate weapon to stop hordes of zombies that comes after you. However, you will need to headshot every undead to stop it. Guns will also be scarce during a zombie apocalypse, that’s why you need to save on your ammo.

Combat Boots – you will need a footwear that can help you move in any terrain, and combat boots is the best choice you have. It’s sturdy and keeps your feet dry and healthy

4x4 Jeep or Pick-up – it’s also important to have a reliable vehicle that you can drive through an army of the living dead. You can also store weapons and supplies in these types of vehicles.

A zombie apocalypse can be a pigment of our imagination, and it might never happen in our lifetime. However, anything can be possible nowadays, like the Black Death (Bubonic Plague) that happened before which killed almost 50% of Europe’s population. These are things that we can no longer predict and so we need to prepare ourselves for such an event.

  1. I love this post and really felt I should leave a message! :D If ever it becomes a reality, I would barricade myself in a mall and wait for the virus to pass, why? Because they've got everything in a mall. :D Hahaha and if Zombies are there, Imma go Jill Valentine on their ass and shoot them with my shotgun. :D LOL
