The Best New Year's Resolution For 2013

Every Year, we always look forward to something good and we’re hoping for a positive outcome that will come our way. We make a list of our New Year’s Resolutions and we tell ourselves that we will follow these commitments by heart. This type of mentality is relatively normal for most of us; it is a very noble effort to expect something more from ourselves. There are thousands of New Year’s Resolutions but you only need to list down a few – to make it manageable and realistic. You don’t want to commit to broken promises, because that will have an adverse effect on your self-esteem.

For all of life’s glories, the best change you need to take this 2013 is the path of good health. I consider it – the fuel to ultimate happiness. Many would dream about wealth or acquiring something extraordinary like an expensive car or the ultimate house for the family, but nothing is as vital as “Health.” If you aim for material things this year, it would be wise to start with a healthy lifestyle. You should always remember that most successful individuals take care of themselves with as much enthusiasm as they did on most of their other endeavors.

Dealing With Depression

Combating Depression - The First Step To A Happier Life

When we look at our world today, there are lots of things to be depressed about. If you’ve watched or read the latest news about the “Connecticut Shooting,” you would have to say it is the most unfortunate event that happened in the USA. According to the news, there were at least 20 school children and 6 adults who lost their lives when a lone gunman runs amok on their school. The gunman identified by authorities as Adam Lanza, who has very obscured motives as to why he did such heinous acts. However, if we look closely to Adam’s record, it is clear that he is a very depressed kid, a mild case of autism and has a severe social interaction problem.

Through history, we can see that most cold-blooded killers have some depression issues that went overboard and gradually pushed them to commit those crimes. As matter of fact, depression is also the main factor in most suicide cases all over the world. A lot of people have many experiences when it comes to depression but most of them don’t know how to react to such an event. If you are paralyzed by depression, then for sure you will have a hard time making the right decisions – making your situation a lot worse than it was before.

How To Become Fearless!

Mastering Your Fears...

Fear is an emotion that is triggered in your mind; it gives you a warning when an impending event can directly affect your life. We fear something that can lead us to danger or even death, and when fear overcomes reason it turns into phobia. That type of fear becomes a mental condition, and it would require the help of a mental health professional like a psychologist to correct or cure it.  So, why do we need to understand our fears? We need to know more about it, because it is the first step on becoming fearless.

When you are fearless, you can accomplish more and you will never fall to melancholy even if you experience failures along the way. However, being brave doesn’t mean feeling invincible, you know that there are limitations to what you can do but you are not afraid to take some risks. I know this for a fact, because there are decisions in my life that seems radical, but I still need to make those decisions - no matter what the cost.

Health Tips: Anger Management

How To Effectively Manage Your Anger

Before we go deeper with anger management, we must first understand anger and define this particular emotion. Anger is considered a natural emotion; it’s a defensive response when we perceived a threat or an attack that could endanger our well-being. It’s also an indication that something gone terribly wrong in our lives. When we experience anger, there are several changes happening in our body. First, your heart rate increases that causes your blood pressure to escalate. Then you feel a sudden rush of adrenaline in your body, and this could trigger a sudden outburst or action perceived as retaliation to a certain threat.

Anger is a dangerous emotion, because it can get you into trouble. Your judgement becomes clouded when you are angry and if you cannot manage it well, it can even lead to broken relationships, bad public relations or unfavorable situations. In fact, researchers and psychologists claimed that one out of five adult individual has an anger management problem. Basically, there is a sequence for anger and it is usually triggered by an event, like someone says something that irritates you or you’ve been hit by a person or any inanimate object.
