9/11: Anti-Terrorism Gadgets That Changed the World

The Most Significant Anti-Terrorism Gadgets, Hardware and Tools

September 11, 2012 is the 11th anniversary of the terror attacks on World Trade Center. It’s a distant reminder that hate still roams the world and we must do everything to eradicate it in our society. Terrorism is now the most significant threat of our time and might hinder us from reaching the next century.

In reality, it's one of the worst case scenarios that all nations are preparing for - especially the world powers. In the US alone, thousands of anti-terrorism gadgets, hardware and tools are in development; most of these items are already in use by both military and private sectors. All of these efforts are all aimed to stop or thwart any terror attacks that might happen in any country in the future.

Here are top 5 of the most High-Tech Anti-Terrorism Gadgets, Tools and Hardware in the world:

1. Hunter-Killer Drones - The most state-of-the-art military hardware or commonly known as unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) which is responsible for the deaths of some well-known terrorist leaders. The MQ-9 Reapers is the brain child of the predator drone program in 2007, developed and produced by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems. It can snipe at any target from 50,000 feet above, it shoots hellfire missile.
 2. Surveillance, Security and Defense Robot – These robots are more robust that their hobby grade counterparts. They are used to survey critical areas without endangering the lives of its operators (soldiers, federal officers or anyone used in combat situation) and these machines can also defend themselves through an array of automatic rifles strategically placed on their frames.

3. Military Grade Spy Satellites – The most potent weapon to stop terrorism is intelligence, that’s why the CIA and other covert organization launched top secret spy satellites. Spy satellites can feed the exact location of a sleeper cell, It’s like Google Earth but a million times better with live feed reconnaissance capabilities that can track terrorists wherever they maybe in the world.

4. Explosive Entry Tactical Defense Rounds - the anti-terrorist rounds! It’s the most lethal bullet in the world today and only one military organization has been allowed to use these rounds on their arsenal – obviously, it’s the US army. The bullet is made up of Tungsten-NyTrillium and considered to be the ultimate refinement in lethal bullet technology.

5. Bomb-Sniffing Robots – Another type of robot that is specifically used to detect bombs. They are equipped with explosives sensors that can penetrate any bomb in any type of terrain. The first breed of robots to be used in Afghanistan is the Fido rover; approximately 5,000 are in active military service today.

However, no amount of technology is more powerful than a closely-knit global community that works together to stop any attempt that could claim the lives of thousands. A good example is the Internet which is the common ground we have so far, and it broke the boundaries that limit communication.

In fact, social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter can be used to spread awareness or to inform people of any impending dangers that might loom in the future.

  1. it is always great to see the advancement of technology and how it can be used to help and protect us. I am so with you in saying this, "However, no amount of technology is more powerful than a closely-knit global community that works together to stop any attempt that could claim the lives of thousands. " - can't add more.

  7. Seems like yesterday when 9/11 struck and now it's been 11 years. I have visited the place recently and none are the great reminders of the terrorists' attacks on the towers but just a lonely memorial to honor those who have perished.

These anti-terrorism gadgets and warfares are advance and hopefully (thought I can only imagine violence in achieving their goal which is to eradicate the bad seeds) they will serve their purpose.

  16. The bomb sniffing robots look really cool. Social media has been a more powerful tool against terrorism as it can spread words of caution at an instant though at times, it is abused in terms of spreading false info.
