Cars - The Stylish Hyundai Eon

Hyundai Eon – Fuel Efficient and Stylish For a Compact Car of 2012

If you’re looking for a subcompact car to drive around the city, for sure you want a good looking car that is both reliable and fuel efficient. You may also want to consider the price tag for that particular vehicle along with other features that makes it the best deal for your money. As we all know, prices of fuel fluctuates overnight and this is one of our main concerns when buying a new car.

When it comes to fuel efficiency and style, Korea’s No. 1 car maker (Hyundai) presents an all new 5-door hatchback that is low on fuel consumption. They called it Eon, a sporty subcompact car that looks sleek and may seem to be a mini version of an SUV. Eon is poised to take its place on the market as one of the most affordable new car. As compared to its Japanese counterpart, Eon is priced competitively low and beyond the reach of anyone who has a limited budget.

For the record, Eon is one of the pioneering cars that have an 800 cc engine and a 3 cylinders-in-line vehicle commercially offered in Asian countries like the Philippines, Malaysia and Thailand. Because of its price, Eon is aimed to target young consumers who are getting a brand new car for the first time.

Eon Interior

If you’re wondering what’s new with this car, here is the list of features you can expect from a Hyundai Eon:

  • Spacious with 215 liters of cargo capacity even with the rear seat in place.
  •  An “Aerodynamic Design” utilizing a wind-swept and fluidic design that enhances the speed, maneuverability and balance of this compact car.
  •     A Stylish interior with central gauge cluster, integrated audio system, 5-speed manual gear shift and upscale dashboard.
  • Classy central gauge cluster with green lights that shows fuel level and engine temperature rather than a clunky need type gauges.
  • One great feature of Eon is its gear shift indicator that can guide the driver to optimize fuel economy through efficient driving.

  • Top of the line air conditioning system with 4-speed blower for a solid cool climate control.
  •   Adjustable steering wheel, ABS breaking system and 2 airbags.
  • AM/FM tuner with CD, MP3, USB Ports and 4 speakers comprise its audio system.
  • Lightweight (approximately 1190 Kg) and fuel efficient, due to its 814-cc engine which enables the Eon to reach 26.7 kilometers per liter on open highway and 17-18 kilometers per liter on both city and highway driving.

However, if you want a speedy car then you might be a bit disappointed. Eon is not built for speed and it shows in its performance, because it struggles at 100 Kph. Though, it’s understandable as it only has an 814-cc engine but overall it’s a solid car to have, especially if you live in a major city.

    1. Hi Clarizze, I think it's between Kia I10 and Hyundai Getz. It's an improved version of those cars but with sleeker design and better mileage (fuel efficiency).

  9. I like Korean-made vehicles. They are affordable and quite reliable. I have been driving my Tucson for the almost 5 years and I never have any problems except for the usual maintenance like oil-change, tire and battery change. I trust Hyundai so this Eon must be a reliable car as well. It's so cute!

    1. That is correct Ria, Korean-made cars can now rival those of their Japanese counterparts. For starters, they are more affordable and one thing I noticed about Korean cars is their fuel efficiency. I Guess this is one of their trademarks in the auto market.

    1. Hi Sir Papaleng, thanks for the comment. The older version of Hyundai vehicles is really a fuel hog, but I think they developed their technology. They now aims to provide better mileage for their patrons.

  11. I wonder how much this one cost in the PHilippines... We have been putting up buying a car for us to use there at Taxi fare can be costly . Import tax can cause you arm and leg. I like the style of this Eon Car and if it has a good mileage then this would be a lot better:)

It is well crafted and efficient also it is very useful. I really experience so excellent after studying your material AS I like to discuss Some people have bad opinions about trucks provided on community selling at Auction for trucks, considering that many of the models on community auction are already poorly broken and with comprehensive problems. While this can be real, not all models were poorly managed and irresponsibly used by their past entrepreneurs. Actually, there are some Auction for trucks that are a little bit used with low usage, and they look like product new; they are also in ideal operating situation, yet they are still respected at very low costs.

    Thanks for your valuable Article.
