S Health – A Health-Friendly App from Samsung

In today’s busy world, we’re always on the move and we often carry our smartphones with us along with other useful gadgets – all for the sake of ease and convenience. It’s our daily companion for any of our common activities that falls under communication, social interaction, entertainment through apps, games and so on. But have you ever thought of accurately monitoring your health through your gadgets? No matter what you say, knowing the true condition of your health is as important as any of your daily tasks. Fortunately, Samsung has launched an app specifically for Samsung Galaxy S III; it’s a great addition that will raise the usefulness of the Galaxy S III up a notch.

This app is called S Health and it will revolutionized the Galaxy S III by allowing it to connect to several health readers and sensors that will accurately track your blood pressure, glucose levels, heart rate and so much more. Actually, this app is not only for people who have medical condition like diabetes or heart ailments, but also for individuals who wants to maintain a record that will serve as a baseline for their physical fitness regimen. It is also possible to share your health records through social media sites like Twitter and Facebook - that is if you want to tell the world just how fit you are.

Basically, S Health is compatible with known monitoring devices like OneTouch Ultra Mini Blood Glucose Meter, Omron Blood Pressure Monitor, A&D Blood Pressure Monitor, Omron Body Composition Monitor and A&D Body Composition Monitor.  Connectivity is not also an issue, because you can connect either through Bluetooth or USB depending on your external device. You can also manually input your data and augment it according to a planned fitness program. This will give you an overview on what type of exercises, diet or medication intake you should prioritize.

My take on S Health – for me it’s a very useful app and a must have for Samsung Galaxy S III users. It’s also free for download through the Samsung network under the “More Service” category. If you want to maintain your health, then you need a reliable record of your physical condition and this is all possible through S Health.
