Japanese
manufacturer, Suzuki, is probably best known for its small 4x4s and swift,
nimble hatchbacks. Suzuki Kizashi, the latest addition to the fleet, heads off
in a new direction instead, putting it in direct competition with family saloon
heavyweights such as Ford Mondeo and the BMW 3 series.
On first
glance, the Kizashi looks quite meaty, thanks to the lowered suspension and
18-inch alloys. This is a fairly technologic car, whose seemingly endless spec list
includes a full leather interior with electric seats, sunroof, fog lamps, rain
sensing wipers, parking sensors front and rear, reversing camera, SAT NAV,
automatic HID headlights, cruise control, keyless entry, dual zone climate
control and Bluetooth Stereo with USB.
Underneath,
the Kizashi runs with 4 wheel drive on a 2.4 litre VVT four-cylinder. Shared
across the range, this engine pushes out 176bhp and is linked to a CVT
automatic gearbox, making the driving experience particularly smooth.
Emission-wise, expect about 34mpg, and
CO2 levels around 191g/km.
The chassis
ride is comfortable and compliant. Handling, however, is the Kizashis best
feature. It’s agile and nimble, boasting the ability to corner with the feeling
of a much smaller car.
As a
practical car, you can also fit an impressive 461 litres of luggage inside.
Better yet, the Kizashi offers rear seats that fold down for that extra room.
Up front, headroom measures 39.3 inches, which is surprisingly roomy compared
to competitors.
No worries
about packing the vehicle up with all your work equipment, either: the interior
can take a bruising with its solid-build, quality materials. Featuring an
impressive eight airbags, and scoring high in safety crash tests, you can also
be confident that the family will be well protected should the unmentionable
ever happen.
As a first
entry to the market from Suzuki, the Kiyashi delivers value for money on all
levels. High-quality interior and fun driveability make this Suzuki a pleasant
surprise for anyone looking for a change to their family run-around.
Seeing this post, I want to replace my 2006 Suzuki Forenza with this one. Although the possibility is very slim, it's free to dream. This car seems to be a super car with all the features being mentioned so clearly and flawless. Great post.
