Kindle Fire HD - Baptism By Fire

How Good is The Kindle Fire HD?

The tablet market nowadays is both crowded and jam-packed with companies vying for the top position. It looks like everyone wants to overthrow the current king in the tablet industry – and that would be no other than the Apple iPad series.  A company like Amazon is doing its best to bring the most competitive tablet that can capture the attention of both the gadget fanatics and your usual tablet users. Its best bet for 2012 is the Kindle Fire HD, an 8.9-inch tablet which is aimed to take on its high end competition.

It has a 1920x1200 display, which can translate pixel density at 254ppi and can match the Apple iPad 3 most significant edge – the Retina Display. The resolution of Kindle Fire HD can even surpass other new tablets on the handheld arena, including Asus Transformer Pad, Galaxy Note 10.1 and even the upcoming Microsoft Surface. When it comes to processing power, Kindle Fire HD utilized has the TI OMAP4470 chipset which they claimed to be the most preferred chipset among companies producing Android Hardware.

The device is also loaded with 1GB of RAM, which is sufficient enough to match the Ipad 3 memory capacity. However, it cannot match the Galaxy Note 10.1, because it has two gigs of memory installed but that will depend great on the tablet user. Most would find it sufficient to go for the 1 GB, but that would all fall down to preference.

Perhaps the most noticeable feature of Kindle Fire HD is its price, which is significantly lower than most of its competitors. The basic model is priced at $299, it clearly undercuts the prices for both the iPad 2 ($399) and the Ipad 3 ($499).

This new flagship tablet from Amazon will surely please its followers by integrating 4G LTE into its system. However, for most users Wi-Fi is more than enough and within the 250MB monthly limit set by Amazon’s annual data plan. Without a doubt, the new Kindle Fire HD is ready to face-off with the iPad Mini – and the final verdict will be decided by the users.
