Toyota Kluger - A Capable SUV
When we talk about technological innovations, the automobile industry would never be left out. As a matter of fact, technology aided the development of vehicles that are both revolutionary and environmentally-friendly. These are the factors that most auto consumers are looking for in a vehicle, and this is the main agenda of automobile manufacturers like Toyota in producing cars that would not endanger human lives but also provide benefits for the environment.
Having
this in mind, Toyota created the Kluger which is also known in Australia as
Toyota Highlander. This particular mini SUV was first produced in 2000, but it failed
to get the attention of most auto enthusiasts and so Toyota didn’t expect much
from it. However, they did continue its production, in which the features of
the Toyota Kluger have managed to move forward – until it overtook all its
competitors in the mini SUV market. There are two variants for this SUV, the
hybrid version and the non-hybrid which is the one available in Australia.
In this
Toyota Kluger Review, we will delve deeper into the features that made the
Kluger – the most favorable Family SUV in Australia today. All the models for
this SUV are considered a smooth ride with great handling and also very fuel
efficient. It also boasts cruise control functions, electric steering wheels,
and a four-wheel drive system that will allow you to pass through muddy roads,
rutted trails, deep snow and slippery highways with ease. Other great features
that you need to know includes keyless entry/ignition, upgraded leather
upholstery, power passenger seat, tri-zone climate control, downhill assist
control and the all new hill-start assist mode.
It is
also elegant on the outside with three trim levels and a distinctively furious
grille design – making it aesthetically beautiful. On the inside, the Kluger
can seat up to seven passengers and a third row seat which is designated for
children. The second row has a removable center section which is capable of
creating an alley from the front seats up to the third row seats. This option is
great if you have additional cargo that you want to load up.
When you
look at the heart of this mini SUV, you’ll find a pretty stable engine.
Actually, there are two types of engines available for the Toyota Kluger. The basic
setup is a 2.7-liter 4-cylinder engine which is designed for the SE model, and
a more sophisticated V6 engine is available for the sport 4WD variant. The basic
engine can pump up 187 horsepower @5800 rpm along a 186 lb. –ft of torque @4100
rpm. While the 3.0 liter V6 engine can produce 270 horsepower @6200 rpm along a
248 lb. – ft of torque @4700 rpm.
There’s no doubt, it's the best car for your family, no wonder it won the best family SUV award. It also maintained its credibility since its inception. If you ask me, I would say it’s a capable crossover SUV from Toyota.
